Interesting, if they flee, it is likely they will run to the Sumpu Mountain Region, where reported caves have been spotted and human activity has been scanned.

I sent a team of 20 men into the Mountains to locate the Pugnas yesterday, sense, for some reason, our sensors cannot scan the Sumpus.
At 1100 Hours, J67-B time, the team entered the Sumpu Mountain Region.
At 1200 hours, J67-B time, the team reported no progress in locating the Pugnas.
At 1246 hours, J67-B time, the team reported that they had been ambushed by 5 Pugnas gang members. No casualties, though they had 3 wounded. They continued on.
At 1300 hours, J67-B time, they reported no further contact with the Pugnas.
At 1330 hours, J67-B time, the team reported equipment failures.
At 1350 hours, J67-B time, all contact with the team was lost.

Equipment failures! Who was in charge of supplying the weapons? It's possible that their transmission equipment broke and cannot contact us. Should we send a rescue team to try and find survivors? Though things here are tight as it is, sending more men out is risky and we cannot afford to lose more men.

Dammit! The Can pirates intercepted one of the supply convoy that was due here today!

We needed those supplies badly too. Scanning the area, those pirates are no where to be found. We are losing this area and we need help.

At least the station is fortified. Though, not enough to withstand a full scale assault...
The Rescue team in the Sumpus found what appears to be the remains of a recently abandoned camp site... No where big enough to be a real base of operations...

I recently found out that our guards have captured someone who might be able to shed some light on the situation. He is being held in the interrogation room.

Excellent. Move forward with the interrogation. I want to find out all we can. And remind the interrogators that he's of no use to us dead.

After a few hours he cracked. He revealed the location of the main base and its coordinates. Judging by the way he described the place, it would be suicide to send in another team. We need to barrage them.

No. Don't attack there! That's one of the minning camps!

Now that an entire sector has been reduced to debris and knocking out lots of power supply centres, we are in deep trouble if someone decides to attack us.

I don't see any reason to let the Cans know about this temporary moment of weakness...

Update:
I've been supervising some of the repair sites and most of the repairs are impossible to make with our lack of appropriate tools. Another problem has risen. A few cargo ships filled with precious Vulcantium will not deliver its goods to the core planets for fear of the Cans attacking.
