*Do not bring up the movie, it does not reflect the book.*
It is one of Asimov's classics, a science fiction wonder of nine short stories. It is my favourite sci-fi book and one of the best things I have ever read due to my fascination with robots. Funny, published in 1950 and dates for the robot future are in 2015, all the way to 2050, even though we humans won't develop robots as sophisticated like in the book for a long time but I am positive it will happen.
The book is so great because of how Asimov details in a very logical way how robots could be and the use of the famous 3 laws of robotics, and the ultimate fact that the first law keeps humans from becoming obsolete. It is a short book and suggest you try and pick it up.
